Holographic Reprocessing + Trauma Treatment

An Interview with: Sarah Douglas, LMFT – Trauma Program Manager

WHAT IS HOLOGRAPHIC REPROCESSING?

Holographic reprocessing really beautifully brings it all together to look at how people do the best they can to get their needs met. You can have five people in a room, all who’ve experienced the same event, and what each of them experiences as traumatic about the event will be different based on the experiences that they had prior to that event. There’s some common themes that run through a person’s life. So the hologram part of holographic reprocessing essentially speaks to that you can look at a person’s life at seven, 13, 16, 27, 56. And even though what’s happening in life will be different at these different times and will have different characters, there’s common patterns. When you’re triggered and your core violation is activated, your emotions may seem really big for the situation at hand. And that’s because you’re not only reacting to what’s happening right now, it’s like plugging in a string of Christmas lights. And each one of those balls on the string of Christmas lights represents a different time in your life. This core violation has been activated.
